| Dear Member, From Here is our new member newsletter. It’s about where we've come from, what's happening today, and where we're headed together. As a New Zealand-owned mutual bank, we’re proud to be part of the community and committed to helping our members build what’s next. From meaningful partnerships and member stories to updates on the future of banking at SBS. From here, we'll keep you informed about the things that matter most to you and our community. Thank you for being part of SBS. From here. For what's next. Watch a short video update from Mark McLean, SBS Group CEO. |
| Building the future. We're making an exciting investment in the future of SBS with a long-term strategic partnership with one of the world’s leading digital banking technology providers, Engine by Starling. The technology will help us continue evolving our services to deliver a more secure, improved digital banking experience that meets the changing needs of our members. |

|
| As the first bank in New Zealand to adopt this technology, SBS is bringing members some of the most advanced banking capabilities available anywhere in the world, while maintaining the reliability and personal service at the heart of SBS today. Although much of this work takes place behind the scenes, it’s laying the foundation for a better banking experience in the years ahead. As shared with members at our Annual General Meeting in July, SBS's future digital banking experience will centre around a new mobile banking app from late 2027, replacing desktop internet banking as part of this change. Mobile banking offers advanced security features and stronger protection against fraud and scams, and convenient access to banking services wherever you are. As changes are introduced, members will enjoy simple, secure digital banking when they want it, with the support of trusted SBS people when they need it. Over the coming months, some members may hear from SBS offering personalised support and education to help them get the most from our existing digital services. Members can also expect branch and Contact Centre team members to discuss digital banking as part of their regular interactions. The goal is to help members build digital confidence and make the most of the services available to them today. |

| Staying safe. With scams becoming increasingly sophisticated, our priority is protecting our members. Scammers stole more than $265 million from New Zealanders last year, highlighting the importance of staying vigilant. |
|
| A few simple habits remain your best defence: • Think before clicking links in emails or text messages, especially if you're being urged to act quickly • Never share passwords, PINs or full card details. SBS will never ask you for this information • If a payment request seems unusual, contact the person or business directly using a trusted phone number to check it's genuine If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and contact us straight away. We're here to help. Taking a moment to check first could make the difference between keeping your money safe and becoming the victim of a scam. |
| Community connections. At SBS, being member-owned means staying connected to the communities our members live in. That's why we support local causes, community events and organisations that help make New Zealand a great place to live, work and belong. |

| One recent highlight was celebrating the SBS Bank Southland Sharks' New Zealand National Basketball League championship win. Throughout the season, our team enjoyed getting behind the Sharks alongside supporters, and the Grand Final was particularly special, with more than 1,400 supporters' names featured on our SBS Bank courtside banner as the team secured the national title. Beyond sport, we're committed to supporting the people and communities that will shape our future. Through initiatives such as the Southland Youth Leadership Academy (SYLA) and Career Fest, SBS team members share their time, experience and knowledge to help young New Zealanders build confidence, develop skills and explore future opportunities. Whether we're supporting community events, celebrating local success stories or helping young people prepare for what's next, we're proud to play an active role in strengthening the communities our members call home. Kind regards, Mark McLean SBS Group CEO |
